On February 8, 2016, tens of thousands of Syrian refugees were stacked up near the border of Turkey. They were attempting to escape from Russian airstrikes, since Russian air attacks have broke the latest round of peace talks. This provides an example of how it is still on the rise and will continue to do so. Civilians are trapped in between dozens of rebel-held villages, and between the Islamic State. Civilians are beginning to lose hope in the crisis regarding the refugees and also in Western leaders like Barack Obama. Mahmoud al-Dik said,“Obama has been saying every day that Bashar al-Assad is finished...But we are the ones who are being finished, not Bashar al-Assad..” This quote deepens our understanding that the refugees themselves have given up hope in foreign powers. They have lost all understanding towards the feelings of America towards Al-Assad, when they themselves are suffering. The Syrian civil war had started on March 15, 2011 and continues to this day.The children still live with the psychological trauma that they have suffered till this day. There have been a lot of damage, however, many countries have tried to alleviate the problem within the crisis by allowing refugees into their own countries or providing humanitarian aid. Officials in Kilis said some trucks went in carrying more tents on Monday afternoon. It's important to realize that there may still be hope for these refugees as long as people of authority make it their responsibility to help them out.
